What types of signs can you create with a laser?
Custom laser cut signs are in high demand by all kinds of enterprises. Engraving signage for hotels, hospitals, museums, schools, etc. are all profitable options to add to your current product lines. Laser engraving machines allow you to both cut and etch all kinds of materials to create everything from simple directional signage to very intricate custom signs.

Multi-layered acrylic signs
Acrylic is a colorful and durable material that is ideal for point of purchase displays that help brand your business and promote your products. Laser operators can cut several pieces of acrylic and then assemble them to create a piece with depth and dimension. A great example of this can be found in our Sample Club with this multi-layer sign created for a vineyard.

Inlaid signs
Laser machines are an ideal tool to create intricate marquetry and inlay designs. You can use the laser to engrave away the “pocket” or area that will be filled, and then use the same system to cut the piece to be inlaid.
The precision of the laser ensures your pieces will fit perfectly into the engraved portion. Inlaid signage can be completed quickly, and offers a sense of artistry and sophistication.

Directional Signage
Two-tone plastic is also a very popular for laser engraving and cutting. This type of material is one color on the outside, but it’s core is a different color – typically white – so when the colored surface is engraved away, the contrasting white is exposed. It’s used often when creating directional signage, maps, room numbers, etc. Check out these building map signs to learn more about this material and technique.

Wedding Signage
Weddings are wonderful occasions that often require cutting and engraving custom signage. Some examples include laser engraving signage that welcomes people to the bride and groom’s special day, or laser cut signage that directs guests which way to go for various events. Epilog’s Sample Club features several projects either designed for a wedding, like this wedding guest book display, as well as files that can be modified for this type of celebration.

LED-lit acrylic signs
These types of signs are extremely popular in a variety of settings – bars, restaurants, retail stores, etc. Because the laser is so versatile, you can use it to both engrave the graphics on the acrylic and also so cut the housing that will frame the sign.
