Usability Features

Intuitive features that help beginners succeed and experienced operators move faster.

Software Features

User‑friendly software designed to deliver consistent results with minimal setup and maximum efficiency.

Safety Features

From enclosure design and system interlocks to pass-through configurations, Epilog safety features are engineered into every machine.

Linear Encoder

The Fusion Ascent delivers industry-leading engraving speed and sharpness through a refined motion system unlike anything else in its class. A dual-encoder design pairs a sub-micron resolution linear encoder on the X-axis rail with a rotary encoder on the high-performance servo motor, so the laser head always knows its exact position. The result is that your engravings are crisper, faster, and more consistent across every job.

Quick Access Optics

A redesigned carriage on the Fusion Ascent makes swapping lenses faster and easier than ever. Our quick-change optics system allows for simple access and seamless transitions between optional lenses, keeping your workflow moving. You’ll see cleaner engraving results with less debris buildup, and the improved accessibility makes routine lens cleaning quick and hassle-free, saving valuable time and maximizing productivity.

    ACCESSORIES:

    Upgrade your laser system

air compressor for the air assist feature for clean cuts
    Compressor
This high-quality air compressor blows a constant stream of air across the cutting area, which removes heat and combustible gases from the work area and provides the best cutting results available. The rubber vibration-dampening feet reduce the noise level of the compressor, and connection is a breeze with our quick-connect inlet and outlet ports on the compressor and the laser system.
    Class 4 Conversion Kit - enables pass-through
    Enables Pass-Through
Allows users to enable pass-through feature for engraving and cutting over-sized items. The kit includes Safety Labels, Certification Tag, Hex Key, Class 4 Enable Dongle, CO2 Laser Safety Glasses, Workpiece Risers, and the Class 4 Supplemental Manual.
stand accessory for the Fusion Ascent 36 laser machines
    Fusion Ascent

An easy-to-use stand for moving your laser around your workspace, this wheeled cart is specially designed for the Fusion Ascent laser machines. It provides you greater versatility within your work environment and the ability to easily transport your machine to different locations.

    Laser system lenses
    Highest-Resolution Engraving
Although the standard 2.0-inch lens provides amazing detail, our 1.5-inch lens assembly is designed for the highest-resolution engraving and etching of extremely small fonts.
    Laser system lenses
    Cutting Thicker Materials
The 4″ lens produces a focused beam over a longer vertical distance, which makes it ideal for cutting through very thick materials.
    Laser system lenses
    Engraving irregular surfaces
Fiber Only – Designed for products that have a slight curvature or surfaces that are not perfectly flat. Produces a slightly longer depth-of-field, which provides a more consistent mark over a non-flat surface.
    Rim-style rotary device
    Rotary Attachment
The Rim-Style rotary attachment adds the ability to engrave bottles, glasses, flashlights, or any other cylindrical item. The rotary attachment is as easy to set up as placing your product on the rotary, raising or lowering the scissor lift to level the engraving area, and printing to the laser.
    3-jaw chuck rotary device
    Rotary Attachment
With the 3-Jaw Chuck rotary, objects are clamped into the device’s 3-jaw chuck, allowing you to rotate cylindrical or oddly-shaped items in applications that demand more precise alignment.
PhotoLaser Plus Advanced software and engraved photo samples
    Design Software
PhotoLaser Plus takes photo engraving with your Epilog laser to the next level by easily processing photos for engraving on all types of materials. Epilog Laser has partnered with CADLink to bring you the industry’s best photo processing software: PhotoLaser Plus. The easy-to-use software interface and powerful photo processing tools allow you to create the highest-quality photo engravings in the industry.

      FAQ’s

You’ve got questions, we got answers.

What are the differences between the Fusion Ascent Laser machines and the Maker/Edge laser machines?

The Fusion Ascent Laser machine is designed for those who want to upgrade to a more industrial laser solution. Featuring up to 120 IPS engraving speeds, long-lasting metal and ceramic RF laser tubes, and pass-through capabilities, the Fusion Ascent provides a powerful, production‑ready solution designed to handle larger projects with speed, precision, and unmatched reliability.

What is IRIS Camera + Registration System?

IRIS™ HD+ is the newest advancement in Epilog’s integrated camera technology, offering enhanced high-definition imaging, improved zoom functionality, and precise real-time alignment for even the most detailed engraving applications.

Along with its overhead camera system, the Fusion Ascent features a dedicated registration camera near the lens that streamlines precise alignment for print-to-cut workflows. Simply place your printed material—whether it’s paper, wood, or acrylic—on the bed with the registration marks visible. The Epilog Dashboard Software reads those marks, aligns your design automatically, and carries out clean, accurate contour cuts with no manual adjustment needed.

What type of Safety features are built into the Fusion Ascent machines?

The Fusion Ascent is sold as a Class 2 laser system, meaning the laser beam is not accessible to humans during normal operation due to interlock controls. No special safety gear is needed to run the laser. Additionally, there is an E-stop, key switch, and emission indicator on the machine. The user has the option to purchase a Class 4 conversion kit, which once installed, changes the laser classification from Class 2 to Class 4. More information about Class 4 operation can be found here.

Additionally, Epilog Laser machines do not emit ionizing radiation (like x-rays or nuclear radiation), and all machines comply with FCC and European Union electromagnetic emission standards.

What is the maximum thickness or height of an item for engraving that can fit into the Ascent 12,24,36 machines

Maximum thickness without pass-through capabilities enabled is 7″. With pass-through enabled, the maximum thickness of material you can engrave is 2″.

What Accessories are available for Fusion Ascent Lasers?

The Fusion Ascent comes with a variety of accessories to help operators expand their product offerings including:

      • Rim-style Rotary Attachment for engraving cylindrical items
      • Air compressor to enable air assist feature that helps reduce flare ups
      • Floor stand for added mobility
      • Optional lenses for cutting through thicker materials and/or engraving in recessed areas
How does the pass-through conversion kit work for the Ascent lasers?

All Epilog machines are classified as Class 2 because the laser beam is completely enclosed. With the Fusion Ascent, customers can add an optional passthrough kit that opens the enclosure to accommodate larger materials. Since this makes the beam accessible, the system becomes a Class 4 laser when the kit is installed. Only customers are authorized to install the Class 4 Conversion Kit using the supplemental instructions provided.

      Conversion Kit Contents:

      • Class 4 Safety Labels
      • Class 4 Certification tag
      • Class 4 Hex Key
      • Class 4 Enable Dongle
      • Laser Safety Glasses
      • Work Piece Riser
      • Class 4 Supplemental Manual
      Learn More
What warranty is included with the Fusion Ascent laser machine?
The Fusion Ascent comes with a two-year warranty on the machine and laser tube.
