Custom Engraved Pumpkin Carving Knives
Holiday, Metal
Introduction
Pumpkin carving season is the perfect time to put a personalized spin on a Halloween essential. In this Sample Club project, we’re using the Fusion Galvo G100 to engrave custom designs onto stainless steel pumpkin carving knives, transforming an everyday tool into a unique seasonal product.
Add names, Halloween graphics, business logos, or custom messages to create memorable gifts, event giveaways, or retail products. With quick laser processing and plenty of room for customization, these engraved knives are an easy way to add value to a simple seasonal item.
While this project utilized the Fusion Galvo G100, this application can also be done on one of Epilog’s flatbed fiber laser machines, or a CO2 machine, provided a metal marking compound is used. Just remember to test your settings depending on your machine type and wattage.

Step 1: Prepare Your Artwork
Start by opening the project files and selecting the design you’d like to engrave.
The artwork can easily be customized with individual names, family names, business logos, event branding, or your own seasonal graphics.
Step 2: Position the Knife and Artwork
Securely position the pumpkin carving knife in the Fusion Galvo G100.
Once the knife is in place, in the Software Suite, position your artwork over the area you’d like to engrave. Double-check the size, placement, and orientation of your design before sending the job to the laser.
Step 3: Apply Your Engraving Settings
For this project, we used the default Metal Etch settings from the Fusion Galvo G100’s built-in material library.
Next, duplicate the artwork and apply the default Metal Polish setting to the duplicate. The Metal Polish setting uses multiple hatch angles – 45°, 90°, and 315° – to help minimize visible line patterns and produce a smoother, more uniform finish.
The combination of Metal Etch and Metal Polish creates a clean, professional-looking mark with excellent detail and contrast.
Note: Settings may vary depending on the material and composition of the knives you are engraving as well as machine wattage. Always test your settings before beginning a full production run.
Step 4: Engrave the Knife
Send the job to the Fusion Galvo G100 and begin engraving.
The G100’s high-speed galvo technology quickly and precisely follows the artwork, producing sharp details and consistent marking across the design.
Step 5: Clean and Finish
Once engraving is complete, remove the knife from the machine and use a soft brush to gently remove any remaining residue from the engraved area.
Inspect the finished design and wipe down the knife as needed to reveal the final mark.
