Looking for a unique gift idea? A laser cut mini cornhole set makes for a great gift and provides hours of entertainment and fun! Its convenient size allows for indoor play during colder months and is easy transport to your summer events. And if you're not up for creating your own, our friends and customers at COOLaserCraft provide a variety of sizes and customization options for these popular sets.
For cutting and engraving the MDF, we used a 50-watt Helix with the following settings:
Raster: Speed - 15 / Power - 100
Vector: Speed - 10 / Power - 100 / Frequency - 500
Start by opening the design file. Insert the MDF board into system and focus the laser. To be sure your materials are lined up properly, print a vector box the size of your material with the red dot pointer on and the system open. This will allow you to visually trace the material without firing the laser and adjust the home position accordingly. Set the home position and press go!
Once each section of the boards are cut and engraved, insert the veneer, adjust the settings, focus, and print.
Vector: Speed - 50 / Power - 40 / Frequency - 500
Remove the adhesive back from the veneer and insert into the engraved pocket. We used a small amount of super glue for added strength. Rolling a dowel over the veneer will help to smooth and ensure a snug fit.
Apply a small amount of wood glue to each of the teeth in the joints. Secure in place with wood clamps and allow it dry for 30 - 40 minutes. Once the glue has completely dried, sand and finish.
Personalize your boards by engraving or inlaying custom designs, names, or favorite sports team logos. Take it a step further by customizing the bags as well. Our versatile laser systems work wonderfully on a variety of fabrics. The only limit is your imagination!
We'll send you a brochure, as well as engraved and cut samples created with the laser.
