The number of people purchasing e-readers is increasing every day. Customization of mass-produced items such as Amazon Kindles is in high demand, not only to make the equipment truly unique to the person it belongs to, but also to act as a way to identify the device and potentially deter theft.
Here we'll walk you through the steps of creating a customized Kindle. The artwork is vector-based so it can be resized to your customer's needs. Additionally, the center image is completely changeable and you can add any shape, icon, etc. to the background pattern.
We used a 40-watt Helix with the following settings: 100% speed, 30% power.
PARAGRAPH TEXT
Insert the Kindle into the upper left corner of the engraving system. If you have modified artwork, you may want to do a test run to make sure your engraving ends up in the correct place.
To do this, draw a vector box around the design and send ONLY that job to the laser. Make sure you run it with the job with the lid open so the laser does not actually fire. The movement of the Red Dot Pointer will indicate where the design will go. Once you are satisfied with the placement, remove the vector box, send your job to the laser and press go!
When the engraving is complete, remove the Kindle from the laser and you're all set!
We'll send you a brochure, as well as engraved and cut samples created with the laser.
