With all the different types of acrylic available, it's easy to see why it's such a popular cutting material. Not only is it visually appealing, it's also a very sturdy material that can withstand the hectic pace and activities of the holidays.
Here we have two types of sparkling acrylic ornaments - one is a multi-colored inlay design and the other is a fun interlocking 3D style. Since they're vector designs, you can modify these to create an array of sizes and use different colors of acrylic to make these bright and festive ornaments.
We used a 50-watt Helix with the following settings: 15% speed, 20% power, 5000 frequency.
First, determine which ornament you'd like to create. If you're doing the 3D ornament, select those objects and send only that job to the laser.
NOTE: Since the thickness of the acrylic can vary, you can resize the interlocking notch space in the 3D design.
For the inlay style, select an acrylic color and send the job to the laser. Send it a second time using a different color acrylic and you can mix and match the colors!
For the inlay ornament, place the cutout in the base and use a little super glue or acrylic glue around the edges to make sure the cut out stays in place.
To complete the 3D ornament, simply slide the pieces together in an interlocking fashion.
We'll send you a brochure, as well as engraved and cut samples created with the laser.
