Laser Cut Plywood Wall Art
Wood
Introduction
In the step-by-step tutorial, you’ll learn how to set up the design file, optimize your laser settings, cut the project cleanly and accurately, and apply primer and paint for a polished final piece.
Project Settings
-
Colors: Mars Orange & Pegasus Blue
Step 1: Prepare Artwork

To start, in our design software we’ll select our first design. Print the file to the Laser Dashboard, choosing “Selection Only”.
Step 2: Artwork Setup in Laser Dashboard

In the Laser Dashboard, position your artwork, then change the Process Type to “Vector”. Input your laser settings. For this project we are using a Fusion Ascent 12 60 watt machine with the settings 25% Speed, 100% Power, and 10% Frequency. Once your artwork is properly positioned, print it to the Laser.
Step 3: Run the Jobs at the Laser

At the laser, select the first file and press the start button to begin cutting. Repeat with the remaining layers after setting up your next plywood sheet.
Step 4: Spray Paint Plywood

After all of the layers are cut out, prime and spray paint each layer and allow them to dry before hanging up. We used Rustoleum Filler Sandable Primer and MTN 94 spray paint in the colors “Mars Orange” and “Pegasus Blue”.
Step 5: Display Artwork
Once the paint is finished drying, it’s ready to display. Now you have a custom laser cut wall art hanging for your space!
