Step 1: Prepare Your Artwork
Download the project files and open the artwork in your preferred design software. Customize the hall passes with your desired text, room numbers, school name, mascot, logo, or other graphics.
Step 2: Prepare the Material
Place the two-ply engraving plastic in the laser. Make sure the material is positioned flat and properly focused before starting the job.
Step 3: Set Up the Job
Send the artwork to the laser software and assign the appropriate engraving and cutting processes.
Import the recommended settings for your material from the Epilog material settings library. Because different plastic colors may respond differently to the laser, we recommend testing your settings on a small area before running the final project.
Tip: Engrave from the bottom up to help prevent engraving debris from settling into the exposed white areas. Depending on the plastic color and desired result, a second engraving pass may also improve the finished appearance.
Step 4: Engrave and Cut
Run the engraving portion of the job to remove the colored surface layer and reveal the white core underneath.
The laser will then vector cut around the outside of each hall pass to create the finished shape.
Step 5: Finish and Assemble
Remove the completed pieces from the laser and peel away any masking, if used. Clean the surface as needed to remove any remaining debris.
Add a lanyard, key ring, clip, or other attachment, and your custom hall passes are ready to use!
