LazerDarc is a powder that you can purchase from the
manufacturer, Smoke Wood, at www.smoke-wood.com.
LazerDarc is a dry darkening compound
that does not soak into wood under the lacquer at the
edge of the lasered design like some darkening agents
will. Also, there are no small bits of masking
tape to pull out of the centers of small letters etc.
as is the case when using black spray paint. The
black powder brings out the detail in the image. It
comes in red, yellow, and black.

Clean your engraving of any residue with either water
or pledge. Wipe the engraving dry. Now you are ready
to apply your darkening powder. Sprinkle some powder
over the top of the engraving.

Brush the powder across the photograph until it is
evenly applied either with the brush that comes with
the set, or with a dry paint brush.

Wipe off the remaining powder, and you're done! You
will be amazed at how the picture's hidden details
appear darker and deeper, and really stand out.

Using
Paint to Color Fill
In
this example we are going to paint fill a graphic
we engraved on a photo album with blue
paint. We used an acrylic paint for the color fill
in this example. To protect the wood album better,
we placed a thin film of car wax on the wood before
engraving - this will keep the paint from settling
in the cracks of the wood outside the engraving.

2)
|
Using a paint brush, paint the entire area that you
have engraved, making sure it is inside all of the
engraved lines of the graphic.
|
 |
| |
3)
|
Wipe
off the excess paint using a slightly damp paper
towel.

That's all there is to it! The graphic now jumps
from the page of this personalized photo album! To
