| Laser Safety |
All laser products—that is, equipment incorporating lasers as components—must be classified according to their output levels. In the United States, compliance with the regulations for lasers and laser products issued by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is mandatory.
Class 3R is a European designation. The CDRH allows Epilog to mark products in accordance with the European standard (CDRH Laser Notice 50), so that two sets of labels are not required. European Class 3R is equivalent to U.S. Class IIIa. |
