First, decide which card you'd like to create. Then, select the paper for each layer of the card. There will be three paper layers for the design without the gift card holder and four layers for the design with the holder.
Note: We found the patterned paper does not engrave as well as the white-core cardstock. We recommend using the white-core cardstock for the text engraving for this project.
Once you've determined which card you'll create, select the paper for each layer. Open the file and type in your personalized message.
Tip: If you are doing the three-layer card, create the first and third layers on patterned cardstock. If you choose the four-layer design, use white-core card stock for the first and third layers and pattern cardstock for the remaining two.
When you're ready to go, send the first part to the laser system and set those pieces aside. Run the second part of the job and when both jobs are finished you'll have pieces similar to the image you see on the right.
The image to the right illustrates the pieces of a four-layer card. The "Thank You" piece is glued to the the first pattern cut- out, the personal message goes behind that, and the gift-card cut out is the last piece. Tie a ribbon through the hole to keep all the pieces connected, and you're all set.
