Sample Club: Laser Engraved and Cut Thanksgiving Placecards

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Here we laser engrave and cut adorable place card holders for your Thanksgiving table. Turkeys and cornucopias compliment the crisp fall colors and greet your guests with a festive welcome to your holiday table.

This project is a great way to bring a little organization to this fun, but often hectic, holiday.

Materials:

  • Lightly-colored paper for printing names.
  • Assorted card stock in Autumn-inspired colors for name place holders.

  1)

Begin by printing the names of your guests on the light paper. We used a calligraphy-style font printed brick red on cream colored paper.

Cut the name cards so they are approximate 3.25" wide by 3" inches long.

  2)

Now you're ready to engrave the place card holders.

Open the file sc_thanksgiving_namecards.cdr and place the paper into the machine. Since we're using such a thin material, manually focus the laser.

On a 35-watt Zing Laser, we used the following settings:

Raster Speed: 100%
Raster Power: 10%

Vector Speed:
100%
Vector Power: 20%

  3)

Adhering the placecards.

Simply tape the nametags to the back of the place card holder with the name facing outward and you're done! You may also use lightweight paper glue if you prefer not to use tape.
