Sample Club: Matboard Pet Frames

Laser cut custom matboard frames with your Epilog laser system.

We often discuss the popularity of creating photo frames with your Epilog Laser system, but another popular application is laser cutting matboards. Each matboard can be custom engraved and cut to create fun and creative designs.

This month's Sample Club features two matboards engraved and cut to highlight your favorite pet. Download these files and create your own fun designs!

Materials:

1 sheet matboard (any color)
Your favorite pet photos

Files: Right click on the file below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.

Download the file above and resize the frame to fit your favorite photos.

We created these matboards with a 35 watt Helix system using the following settings:

Raster: 50% speed, 100% power
Vector: 40% speed, 50% power, 100 frequency

A couple of suggestions when working with matboard:

Choose a darker color of matboard to decrease the risk of "smoky" cut lines.
A darker color also makes the engraving stand out against the background.
Use a lower frequency when vector cutting and turn on the Air Assist to improve the cut lines.
