Sample Club: Laptop Engraving

Materials:

• Laptop or Notebook Computer
• A Level

Files: Right click the file below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.

The Epilog system used for this project was a 75 watt Helix.

• First Open the lionfish_graphic.cdr file.
• Next measure the dimensions of the laptop you are going to be engraving.
• Change the page width and height to the dimensions you collected from your laptop.
• Reposition and resize the lionfish graphic if needed.
• Note: Be sure to mask off any logos or words you do not want engraved over. We masked the Sony and VAIO logos for our example.

Setting up the laptop in your Epilog laser system.

• Place the laptop into the engraver and use the level to make sure that it is level.

Print settings.

• Next select Print.
• In the print driver under job type choose raster.
• Turn on the auto focus feature.
• Set the horizontal and vertical lengths to correspond to the dimensions of your CorelDRAW page.
• We set our 75 watt Helix raster settings to: Speed: 100%
  Power: 10%
• Note: Your power and speed settings will need to be adjusted depending on the wattage of your Epilog system. Results will vary slightly depending on the material your laptop is made of.
• Then send the file to the laser.
• Now press GO!
