Sample Club: Laser Engraved Laptop Case

This laser engraved laptop case is perfect whether you're headed back to school or just want customized accesories to go with your electronics. This case features a bold and unique design that looks great on a variety of colors and also contains space for personal contact information in case the item is lost.

Made of lightweight neoprene (a type of synthetic rubber), this laptop case makes any design pop with its bright colors and great engraving contrast.

Right click the file below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.

The Epilog system used for this project was a 45 watt Helix.

  • First, pull the handles from the case so they are fully extended.
  • Place the case in the engraver as shown below. The left side of the case should be flush with the left ruler; the top of the handles should reach the top ruler.
  • Disable the X/Y axis and manually focus the machine in the center of the case.
  • Reset the machine to its home position
  • Now, open the file sc_laptop_case.cdr and send the job to the engraver.
  • On a 45-watt Helix, we used the following settings :
    RASTER SPEED: 100%
    RASTER POWER: 35%
    Resolution: 200 DPI
  • If you'd like a darker design, do not move the case out of the machine, simply run the job one more time.


Make sure the handles are fully extended.
Place the case inside the machine.


 

Using your focus gauge, manually focus
the machine in the center of the laptop case.
