With Christmas just around the corner, this month we decided to create our own holiday card. This three layered greeting is sure to exude the spirit of the holidays!

Materials:
- Red, green and silver card stock. We purchased ours from Paper and More and have included detailed information below:
- GREEN
- SILVER
- RED
We used traditional holiday colors, but feel free to use the colors of your choice!

The Epilog system used for this project was a 60 watt Helix.
This project mostly utilized the cutting features of the Epilog Helix; however, some engraving was done on the last layer of the card.
- First, open the file sc_card_layer1.cdr. and insert your first layer of paper (ours was green.)
- To score a neat fold, we used the following settings to create a lightly perforated line through the card:
Speed: 60%
Power: 10%
Frequency: 10
- Next, open sc_card_layer2.cdr and insert your second layer of paper (we used silver.)
- Cut the snowflakes from the paper using the following settings:
Speed: 70%
Power: 60%
Frequency: 200
- Please note since the silver paper is fairly thick, you can simply wipe off any small burn marks you may get from cutting.
- Lastly, open sc_card_layer3.cdr and insert your paper (we chose red for this layer because it was best for engraving purposes.)
- This is the only layer that contains both cuts and engraving marks.
- Use the following settings for engraving: Speed: 80%
Power: 8%
- And these settings to make your cut:
Speed: 70%
Power: 60%
Frequency: 200
After this step you will have all your card layers ready to assemble.

To assemble your card, center each piece to your liking and glue together layers 2 and 3. Once dry, glue that layer to the base layer and your card is complete! |
