This Acrylic Travel Chess Set was created using a 35 watt Mini 24.
Start by covering an area of 11" x 7" with double sided tape on the back of the black acrylic sheet (the blue area pictured to the right in Figure A).
Note: We don't want to cut the red line so we are going to use the Color Mapping feature in the Print Driver to set separate speeds and powers for the black and red vector lines. The red line is a guide to be used during the assembly of the chess set.
Open the chess_black.cdr file and choose Print. In the Print Driver open the Properties Menu and choose the Advanced Tab. Now click the box next to Color Mapping. Use the settings in the Owner's Manual for cutting 1/8" acrylic for the black line, and use settings that will lightly etch the red line. We used settings of 12% speed, 100% power and frequency 5000 for black. For red we used settings of 100% speed, 100% power and frequency 500.
Now send the file to the laser.
