Sample Club: Laser Engraved Denim Beach Bag

Durable fabrics that are tightly woven, such as denim or cotton, engrave with excellent results. With a laser, you can produce beautiful patterns in a fraction of the time it takes for traditional embroidering.

Here we'll walk you through the steps to create a fun and festive beach bag. Adorned with waves, sand crabs, surfboards and other beachfare, it's perfect for toting all the essentials for a day outdoors!




Materials:

•Denim tote bag - we purchased ours from Hobby Lobby.

 

 


Files: Right click the files below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.

Follow the steps below to complete the project. We used a 45-watt Helix with the following settings:

Speed: 70%
Power: 20%
Resolution: 300 - Simple shapes and objects with little difference in shading, like those on the bag, engrave well at lower resolutions.


 
1. Start by placing the bag in the machine. Make sure to tape down the edges and handles so they're not in the way. Send the job to the engraver and press go!  

3. Keep the tape in place after the engraving is complete. If you feel there are areas you'd like to go over with a second pass, select those graphics and send only those jobs to the laser.
