Download the files for our acrylic tree with inlaid
ornaments, or larger versions of the ornaments
to hang on your tree! We created these multi-colored
ornaments by spray painting a clear sheet of acrylic
with blue, red, and green. Engrave through the
paint for a great frosted appearance.
To create this acrylic tree made with inlaid ornaments,
first download the files tree.cdr, ornaments_small.cdr,
and treebase.cdr below.
Materials:
.125" thick acrylic
Spray Paint: Blue, Green, Red
Files: Right click the file below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.
Using acrylic that has been
sprayed with green spray paint (or using green
acrylic), print treebase.cdr to
the laser. The ornaments that you would like
to
place
on the tree can be changed by moving the outlines
of the ornaments around on the tree's file.
Below you can see what the tree.cdr file will
look like in Corel when you open it.
We used .125 inch thick acrylic
for our tree, but you can use any width you
would like.

The ornaments_small.cdr file is made up of
five different ornaments to be inlaid in the
tree, and a star you can attach to the top
of the tree.
You can create these ornaments in any color
by purchasing clear acrylic and spray painting
it the color you want. Use your imagination!
When you engrave the spray painted acrylic,
make sure you engrave on the painted side so
that you engrave away the color.

The tree base is made of a piece of clear
(or painted) acrylic. We used a thicker 1/4" thick
acrylic for the tree we created.
The slot in
the center should be made the same thickness
as the acrylic you used for the tree.
