What you'll need:
Velvet/velour bags of varying sizes and colors. We got ours from Pouchmart.com.
Files: Right click the files below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.
Consult your owner's manual for the correct speed and power settings for your machine.
With a 40-watt Helix, we used the following settings:
Speed: 100%
Power: 15%
DPI: 200
Artwork: 80% black
First, either open the file and select the design you'd like to engrave or create your own file with custom art. Because the bag is slightly thicker at the top and the drawstrings are exposed, we'll want to use the Center-Center option in the Dashboard so we are not confined to the upper-left corner.
To do this, place the bag anywhere in the machine. Turn on the red dot pointer and move your home position to the center of the engraving area (pictured to the right.)
Set the page size to the size of the engraving area (depending on the bag size it's usually around 3 - 4 inches wide by 3-5 inches long). If you want to preview the position of the job, draw a vector box around the engraving and send ONLY that job to the laser (with the door open and the red dot pointer on.) That way you can ensure the engraving is placed precisely where you want.
When you're satisfied with the placement, send the job to the laser and you're all set!
