Golden, Colo. – (Aug. 3, 2009) Epilog and the GeekDad Blog on Wired.com today announced the launch of the Mystery Box Challenge. Inspired by a JJ Abrams presentation and one creative mystery box, the contest celebrates creativity, limitless possibility and the infinite unknown. The deadline to enter is Sept. 30, 2009 and the grand prize winner receives a laser engraved iPod Touch from Epilog Laser.

The Mystery Box Challenge truly encompasses what Epilog is all about,” said Mike Dean, director of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser. “Our users embrace the endless possibilities of what our systems can do. They create and innovate. They are constantly dreaming up what to make next.”

“We put very few restrictions on the contest,” said John Baichtal, GeekDad blogger. “People can make their boxes however they’d like and with whatever materials they choose.”
As Abrams said of the mystery box in his speech, “It represents infinite possibility. It represents hope; it represents potential… mystery is the catalyst for imagination.”
“We hope the story behind the box will inspire people to create something truly mysterious and inventive,” Baichtal said.
The winner will be selected from a panel of judges from Epilog Laser and GeekDad, and can submit their own artwork for laser engraving on the iPod Touch, or select a design from Epilog.
