Epilog Laser Receives Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting

Golden, CO – June 27, 2005: Epilog Laser, leading manufacturer of high quality laser engraving, cutting and marking systems, received the Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting in the category of Small-Sized Manufacturer on May 18, 2005. Epilog began entering into international marketplaces in 1992 when it acquired its first international distribution network at the Awards and Recognition Association's (ARA) International Awards Market in Las Vegas . Epilog began expanding its international sales program from Canada into Australia , Asia and Europe , until they developed an international distribution network with worldwide coverage.

“Our secret is networking. We ask our existing distributors for the industry experts in other countries who would make for great Epilog representation. It's been a great success for us,” states Mike Dean the sales and marketing director of Epilog Laser. The award is given based on the following criteria: commitment to exporting, is the company a manufacturer, sales in exporting, and the number of countries the company exports too.

The award started back in 1970 and up till 1990 had no specific categories. In 1991, to be fair to companies large and small, the state created categories for larger and smaller company categories to make the competition fair. The purpose of the award is to highlight the important role exporter's play in the development of Colorado and to recognize the companies that demonstrate a commitment to international trade. Companies can get applications sent to them by requesting them through the State of Colorado from the Office of Economic Development and International Trade or if someone you know requests for the application to be sent to your company.
