Golden, Colo. – (July 13, 2009) Epilog Laser today announced the company received an Editor’s Choice Award from MAKE Magazine for its exhibit at the Bay Area Maker Faire May 30 and 31.
“The Maker Faire is an excellent venue for Epilog,” said James Stanaway, Epilog’s director of marketing. “Makers and attendees all have that innovative and creative mind set – they immediately see the amazing things you can do with a laser.”
Boasting around 75,000 attendees, Maker Faire, now in its fourth year, is the largest do-it-yourself (DIY) festival in the country. Heading President Obama's call to "begin again the work of remaking America", the theme of Maker Faire 2009 was “Re-Make America”. Showcasing individual creativity and grassroots innovation, Maker Faire celebrates what President Obama called "the risk takers, the doers, and the makers of things."

As in years past, Epilog offered custom engravings, which is always a crowd-pleaser. Though lines were long, over 115 attendees waited it out to get their belongings personalized.
“Of course we did a lot of cell phones and iPods,” Stanaway said, “but we also had some new items like shoes, shirts and purses – people really got creative!
“We’re thrilled to have received an Editor’s Choice Award,” Stanaway said. “We’re very grateful for the continued support of MAKE Magazine and the makers who come up with unique ways to use Epilog’s equipment.”
