Golden, Colo. – (Jan. 31, 2012) Epilog and Instructables.com are pleased to announce Andy Rawson, Edwardsville, IL. is the grand-prize winner in the fourth installment of the highly-popular Epilog Challenge. Rawson will receive a new Epilog Zing 16 Laser engraving/cutting system for his inventive “Build a Laser 3D Printer – Stereolithography at Home" instructable.
The winning entry was one of 812 instructables entered in the fourth Epilog Challenge, almost double the number of entries of the previous challenge!
“I am so excited about winning the Zing 16,” Rawson said. “I found out about winning the day before my birthday so it was an incredible present. The Epilog Challenge was the reason I actually got this project done, I think it is a great motivator,” he said.
“Once again I’m thoroughly impressed by the quality instructables submitted in this challenge,” said Mike Dean, vice president of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser. “The creativity and ingenuity that went into some of these projects is amazing and I can’t wait to see what Andy will do with his Epilog Zing 16 Laser.”

“I already have a huge list of things to do with the Zing 16,” Rawson said. “First will be some player tokens and dealer buttons for a friend's poker tournament. Then I will be working on prototyping a kit version of the SLA printer I made for the contest. Also, my family and friends are starting to think of all the cool things that can be cut or engraved with the Zing, it looks like it will be an amazing tool!”
