Epilog Laser, the leading producer of CO2 and fiber laser engraving, marking and cutting systems, today announced the company is the official laser engraving sponsor of the Dark Steel Robotics team. Dark Steel Robotics is a premier robotics team run and organized by high school students who are pursuing a career in the engineering field.
“We couldn’t be happier to sponsor Dark Steel Robotics,” said Mike Dean, director of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser. “These intelligent and innovative students make excellent use of our equipment and help further the notion that engraving and cutting possibilities are virtually endless with our systems.”
The team is made up of five students: Bryan Uber, Hideyuki Terashima, Steffen Kaefer, Daniel Abolafia and Harrison Stokols. Competing in numerous engineering and robot-based competitions, Dark Steel Robotics has taken part in the Panasonic Creative Design Challenge, Dimension Extreme Redesign Challenge, Bots IQ National Competition, North Eastern Robot Conflict, and many other events.
“We're really excited to have received this sponsorship from Epilog Laser,” said Uber, president of Dark Steel Robotics. “They’re really helping students understand how creative and truly interesting engineering can be.”
