Golden,
CO – July 20, 2005: Epilog Laser is proud to announce its newest driver feature: bottom-to-top engraving. Included on all Epilog Mini, Helix, and Legend EXT systems, this update allows you to choose if you want to engrave from the top of the image to the bottom, or reverse it for bottom to top engraving.
On a typical engraver, as the laser head moves from the top of the image to the bottom, the dust and debris left from the engraved areas is swept to the exhaust located at the back of the machine. This causes the dust that is passing over the recently engraved areas to lodge in the cracks and crevices. By reversing the motion control so that the laser starts at the bottom of the image and heads toward the top, a large portion of the debris and dust is kept away from the newly engraved area, leaving the cleanest engraving possible.
Adding unique functionality to our systems is one of our top priorities,” said Mike Dean, sales and marketing director of Epilog Laser. “Our customers asked for a way to have less cleanup after engraving, especially on woods and coated plastics. We believe the ability to engrave from bottom to top provides a great solution that allows our users to create higher quality engraving products than ever before.”
Bottom-to-top engraving is just one of the many popular functions on Epilog's print driver for their Mini, Helix, and EXT laser systems.
