Extra-Terrestrial Mystery Box

Submitted by: Robert Thompson & Son

Description: Today we are proud to share our first other-worldly mystery box! Are we witnesses to some kind of alien experiment? Communication device? Or weapon? We may never know since all who dare look inside and behold the mystery within this box are rendered speechless!

Built by a father-son team, the Extra-Terrestrial Mystery Box comes complete with a great back story, tons of imagination, and impressive craftsmanship. It must have been rewarding for the maker of this mystery box to witness his son learn valuable building skills--he learned to use a drill and a dremel for this project as well as using his great imagination to come up with his own alien language!

And now the Legend of the Extra-Terrestrial Mystery Box:

"The legend behind our Mystery Box is that it was found in the mountains of Groom Range in southern Nevada sometime during the 1950's. The box has some unusual markings engraved in what appears to be the front. There are 10 small holes in the front of the box (5 on each side of the markings). Lightning bolts are engraved to the left and right of the markings. When there is a lot of electricity in the air (usually during thunderstorms), the box seems to activate and attempt to make some sort of communication. Light illuminates from the 10 holes in the front of the box, and the top of the box will often glow. It appears that there is an antenna on top, which can extend during the communication process. Once a storm has passed, the box will return to a dormant state. Legend has it that anyone who attempts to look inside while the box is active will be unable to speak or effectively communicate in any way for days or weeks. When they are finally able to recover, they can only remember a bright light and usually repeat the phrase, "mystery box" over and over."
