Smoothing an Outline in CorelDRAW
Creating an accurate outline with the Bezier Tool can be time consuming in CorelDRAW. In this article, we are going to show you how you can take a few shortcuts when creating your outline, and still have a smoothly cut image on the laser.

For this project, we are going to cut out the shape of Italy to create a 3D sticker to place in a photo album.

Using this technique, we cut out the outline of Italy from a printed image of the map, attached it to foam, and made a 3D sticker to place on this scrapbook page. You will be able to use this step-by-step instruction on a number of different projects with your laser!

Sample Club: Scrapbooking with a Laser
Scrapbooking is a fast growing industry. Creating theme pages for trips, framing photographs and adding titles to images makes the custom scrapbooks stand out for their creativity and personalization. This month we are doing scrapbooking pages for those who are in the industry and looking for ways to set up files to produce kits or to simply create special pages to add to your own scrapbook.

We have made three different scrapbook pages. One was created for family pets, a second one highlights a vacation, and the third was created as a child's page. All of the files include different types of fun projects for each page. See how at:

Epilog Goes Bottom's Up
Epilog Laser is proud to announce its newest driver feature: bottom-to-top engraving. Included on all Epilog Mini, Helix, and Legend EXT systems, this update allows you to choose if you want to engrave from the top of the image to the bottom, or reverse it for bottom to top engraving.

On a typical engraver, as the laser head moves from the top of the image to the bottom, the dust and debris left from the engraved areas is swept to the exhaust located at the back of the machine. This causes the dust that is passing over the recently engraved areas to lodge in the cracks and crevices. By reversing the motion control so that the laser starts at the bottom of the image and heads toward the top, a large portion of the debris and dust is kept away from the newly engraved area, leaving the cleanest engraving possible.
