This page provides instructions for calibrating the Legend 36EXT for Encoder Match Y.
If you have any trouble downloading these files, please call Epilog Technical Support at 303-215-9171.
- Create a 2" x 10" vertical box in CorelDRAW (so the 10" runs down the y-axis).
- Cut it out of a material such as anodized aluminum and check the measurement to see if the box is 10" or slightly off.
- On the control panel, click on the CAL button and scroll to "Encoder Match Y".
- You can set this from -60 to +60. If the box is shorter than 10", then you need to increase the value of this number, and if the box is longer, you need to decrease this number. Each unit when using a 10" box as a reference is equal to .001".
- When your value is changed, press the GO button to save the setting, and reboot the machine.
- Repeat this process until the y-axis scaling is properly set.
- When raster engraving two lines of text with a specific amount of space between the lines, the laser would begin firing in the x-axis before the y-axis was finished moving.
